TORONTO, ON (April 23, 2026) – Gold-certified Canadian country artist Zach McPhee will release his powerful new single “The Way I Know You Now” tomorrow. The release marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, as McPhee has also signed a new global distribution deal with ADA/Warner Music Canada. Written by Payton Smith, Jonathan Hutcherson (Mackenzie Carpenter, Lanie Gardner, Lily Rose) and Brad Rempel (Josh Ross, High Valley, Granger Smith), and produced by Garrett Ward and Dan Botch of The Renaissance, “The Way I Know You Now” blends heartfelt storytelling with a vibrant, contemporary sound.
“I knew I had to record this song the first time I heard it. It so perfectly captures the relationship I share with my wife, Addie –from our first dates to the life we’ve built together as a married couple and now as parents to our son,” shares McPhee. “Lyrically and sonically, it reflects the most important connection in my life, and I’m incredibly grateful to the writers for letting us bring it to life.”
Eric Wong, President of Warner Music Canada says, "Zach is a compelling talent whose authentic songwriting and impressive momentum have already made an impact on the Canadian country landscape. We are proud to partner with Zach and the RLive team to build on this success and provide the global distribution and support needed to reach the next level in his career."

Hailing from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, McPhee has quickly established himself as one of the most compelling emerging voices in Canadian country music. His path into music began in childhood when singing was introduced as a form of speech therapy — a turning point that sparked a lifelong connection to music and storytelling. McPhee released his debut single “Bring On” in 2023, followed by his debut EP Feels Country to Me. In 2024, the deluxe edition introduced “Smoke”, which became a breakout moment — peaking at #7 at Canadian country radio and earning Gold certification. That same year, he won SiriusXM’s Top of the Country and signed with RLive Management, accelerating his trajectory. With over 32 million streams and climbing, and a 2025 CCMA Awards nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Zach continues to build momentum. He recently added three BC Country Music Award nominations — Male Artist of the Year, Interactive Artist of the Year and Video of the Year — and, with a new distribution deal now in place with ADA/Warner Music Canada, shows no signs of slowing down.
“As we work to elevate Zach’s exciting and developing career, we are thrilled to be partnering with Warner Music Canada for next steps. In Warner, we have found a team truly aligned with our vision and goals. With our shared belief in Zach and his upcoming music, we’re excited for the milestones ahead,” says Kate Howse, Artist Manager at RLive.

His path into music began in childhood when singing was introduced as a form of speech therapy — a turning point that sparked a lifelong connection to music and storytelling. He built early momentum through YouTube, sharing covers and original songs, before gaining support from fellow BC native Aaron Pritchett. In 2019, he placed in the top three of Western Canada’s Denim on the Diamond competition, marking an early signal of his potential. Zach released his debut single “Bring On” in 2023, followed by his debut EP Feels Country to Me. In 2024, the deluxe edition introduced “Smoke”, which became a breakout moment — peaking at #7 at Canadian country radio and earning Gold certification. That same year, he won SiriusXM’s Top of the Country and signed with RLive Management, accelerating his trajectory. In 2025, he was awarded Emerging Artist and Album of the Year at the BC Country Music Association Awards and was nominated for Breakthrough Artist at the CCMA Awards. With over 32 million streams and growing, Zach continues to build momentum across DSPs and live. Recent releases, including “Tears That You’ll Never Find” and “Feel Free” have pushed his sound forward, with “Tears” becoming his fastest-growing release to date. Entering 2026, Zach continues that trajectory with “The Way I Know You Now”, a deeply personal record that captures the full arc of a relationship and reflects his experience finding his wife — signalling a clear step forward in both artistry and positioning.
